Do you like classic cars? I do. Do you like Seats? I do. Do you like rarities? I do. If you’re like me, I’m going to make you jealous: We’ve gone to paradise! This video would not be possible anywhere else in the world. We went to see the “Seat on the road” collection and we chose 10 real rarities… #cars #classiccars #seat @seatenrodaje Become a member of this channel to enjoy benefits: / hermetic garage We promised that from the summer we would leave the studio more often… and here we are! Now I’ll tell you where… I’m not a big fan of car museums. Do you know why? For the same reason that I like slot cars more than static miniatures. And for the same reason that I hate stuffed animals and I love seeing animals in freedom. In a museum you have the feeling of seeing “stuffed” cars or “static” replicas. That’s why I like classic car meetings and rallies the most… and that’s why I’m a huge fan of “Seat on the move”… because it’s not a museum, here all the cars are “alive and kicking”, in running order, with their insurance and MOT in force. You can choose the one you want, get in, turn on the ignition and… enjoy! That is… if the owner lets you… This madness, these 40 cars, all special, impeccable and in running order, has been possible thanks to a “madman”…. That “wonderful madman” is called Jaime Sánchez… and I’m going to introduce him to you… In this very special video there won’t be a “Car of the day”, but rather a “Person of the day” and we’ll talk about “Seat on the move”. So, if you like, Jaime, let’s start with these 10 unique Seats… which, by the way, you’ve chosen. Let’s start with these 10 rarities. In the video I’ll tell you a little about the car and Jaime about how it came to be in the collection. 1. Seat 1400 B Van-Family (1957). The Seat 1400 saloon was the first car manufactured by Seat, but this estate version and even more so this unit that was a rural taxi in Madrid, is a real rarity… and a beauty. And I remind you that it is not a decoration, it is authentic! 2. Seat 1400 Sport Serra (1959). Today a convertible car still attracts attention… but in 1959 it was like seeing a “green dog”! This brilliant design by the great coachbuilder Pedro Serra is based on the platform of the Seat 1400… actually, the only car that existed at the time. Only 20 were made… 3. Seat 1400 Ambulance (1962). As with the Madrid taxi, the most striking thing about this car is that it is not a recreation or a decoration: It is 100% authentic. 4. Seat 1400 C Sport (1963). Another convertible, but this one with an added value: It is probably a unique model, created by Carrocerías Herrero de Oviedo, not very well known but who, as you can see, did a great job. 5. Siata Formichetta (1965). The 600s have a special charm. The vans have a special charm. And the models made by hand have a special charm… well, this Formichetta has those 3 characteristics… 6. Hispano Alemán Mallorca (1974). I confess that I have a weakness for this car, which, by the way, I can’t fit into… because I can’t fit! But I almost remember by heart the test written by the great journalist Arturo de Andrés… This car was and is, amazing, a Lotus Super Seven “Made in Spain”. 7. Seat 127 Samba (1978). The Seat 127 Samba is in itself a real rarity, but this unit is also the number 1 manufactured by Emelba. A 127 converted, successfully, into a “beach” car. 8. Seat 124 2000 FL90 (1979). I am going to make a confession: I have removed one of the models suggested by Jaime to put this one. I love this car! It is the pinnacle of the evolution of the “seatones”, in this case with a 2-litre engine and rack and pinion steering… a real blast and I intend to try it with Jaime’s permission. 9. Seat Ibiza Cabrio (1985). I am sure that this model would have been a success. It was designed and built by INDCAR in Arbucies, which bought EMELBA and which still exists. Do not confuse, as happened to me, with INDUCAR, which built the 1200 and 1430 Sport. It seems that they only built 5 units and one of them, of course, is owned by “Seat en Rodaje”. 10. Seat Toledo Pódium (1992). At the Olympics held in Spain, in Barcelona, if you were Spanish and you got on the podium you got a medal… and a special version of a Seat Toledo with loads of equipment! A good motivation. Conclusion. I am sure we have not let you down… We have chosen 10, but there are 40, do you want us to come back? Person of the day. Jaime Sánchez is undoubtedly the person of the day… we are going to do a short interview with him to tell us how “Seat en Rodaje” was born, but if you are interested in the subject, in the members area you will find a longer interview with more details, anecdotes and curiosities… and in the video, there will be a surprise.
