Putting the baby to sleep out of sight of the parents Up to 3 months old babies should sleep with their parents, in their crib, or in another room being monitored by a baby monitor. 2. Taking your baby to closed places with lots of people At this early stage of life, it is not advisable to take your baby to closed places with a large concentration of people, such as shopping malls, markets, and indoor events. 3. Giving water or tea If your baby is exclusively breastfed, there is no need to offer other liquids. 4. Giving your baby medication without medical advice. Do not listen to advice from friends, relatives, or acquaintances about miracle remedies for common baby problems (such as colic and others). Everything that is offered to your baby must be checked beforehand. 5. Taking your baby to the beach or pool. Most health professionals recommend that beaches and pools are only allowed for babies from 6 months onwards. 6. Apply sunscreen and insect repellent Babies at this age should also not use sunscreen or insect repellent. For this reason, beaches and pools should be avoided. 7. Allowing your baby to come into contact with sick children or adults. Avoid allowing your baby to come into contact with another family member who is sick, even if it is something simple, such as a cold. At this age, babies do not have enough defenses and something simple in an older person can be very complicated for a new baby. 8. Letting the baby cry A baby should not be left crying, even if it is to “teach” something. At this age, babies do not throw tantrums and the only thing they can learn from this experience is to feel more insecure, anxious and stressed. 9. Leaving the baby alone on the changing table or bed. Even though it may seem safe because the baby has not yet turned over, it is not. 10. Covering the baby in the crib Babies should not be covered when put to sleep. This poses a risk of suffocation. 🛍 Visit the MdM store on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com.br/macetesdemae 📖 Check out my book: “Grávida e Prática - Um guia sem rodeios para a mãe de primeira viagem” (Pregnant and Practical - A straightforward guide for the first-time mother)!
