This is not a regular video with a simple list of 10 interesting cars to buy used. We include those 10 cars, sorted by price. But we go further: We do the “numbers” so you can see why it may be more interesting to buy a used car than a new one. And we tell you “The 4 rules of Máximo”. #cars #secondhandcars Become a member of this channel to enjoy advantages: / hermetic garage Cars have gone up a lot in price, both new and used. But it is still interesting to consider buying a used car, with few years and few kilometers, instead of a new one. The objective can be to spend less or to have a better car for less money. According to a good friend of mine, a great expert in the world of cars, having a new car was a real nonsense… a whim at a very high price. He may be right. To explain why a used car may be more interesting than a new one, I am going to explain the “4 rules of Máximo”. Pay attention, I will ask later. These are: Devaluation, duration, use and selection. We are talking about DEVALUATION. According to various studies, if you drive your new car out of the dealership and sell it at the door, with minutes of life and hundreds of meters traveled, you will lose at least 10 percent of its value. The second year it can lose 25 percent of its value, up to 35 percent in the third and up to 45 percent in the fourth... And there, as we see, the price stabilizes. Conclusion: If it is a well-cared for and maintained car, it is worth buying used cars, especially after 4/5 years. Second rule, DURATION. The normal thing, except for problematic engines, is that cars last... as long as necessary and more. How many cases do you know of users who have had to do engine work or have a very expensive repair because the car has a lot of kilometers? Any car today will do 300,000 or 400,000 km without blinking if you take minimal care of it. That is why, in the 70s, buying a car with 100,000 km meant that you would have to spend a lot of money in a short time. I'll do the math, that's what this video is about: If you buy a car with 200,000 km, it is logical that it will last up to 500,000 km and you do 20,000 a year, then: 300,000 divided by 20,000 is 15 years... not bad. Let's talk about the third rule, USE. I always say that the kilometers are not a good measure of the life of a car, but the type of use and maintenance. The Arias-Paz, as you know, for me the "Bible" of the automobile speaks of the "doctor's" car as a car to escape from. And the village taxi as an example of a good life for a car. I explain it to you in the video. But when buying a car, ask about the use it has received and ask for reliable proof of its good maintenance. And that brings us to the fourth rule: SELECTION. I always say that when you buy a used car you don't buy a model, but a unit. Don't be determined by a certain colour, equipment, engine, even be flexible if you were looking for a model and find another similar one, but very well maintained and at a good price. Be smart. Everything we have said up to this point is valid, wherever you live and whatever car you buy. From here the list begins, as always, with Spanish models and prices, for which I apologize to those from other countries. I have organized it by price. First cars for less than €10,000 Dacia Sandero Stepway. Kia Picanto 1.0 Dpi. Now we are going to see cars for less than €15,000 Fiat 500 1.0 Hybrid. Ford Focus 1.5 Ecoblue. We go up a step and we are going to see cars for less than €20,000 Nissan Qashqai DIGT 140 CV. Renault Talisman. We go up another step to look for cars that are more equipped, more modern and for less than €30,000 Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSFI DSg. Mitsubishi ASX MHEV. And now we don’t go up a step… well, first we go up one, and then two or three. We are going to talk about cars that cost more than €30,000 BMW 218i Grand Coupé. Porsche 718 Cayman. Conclusion. More than a conclusion, it is a piece of advice: Before buying, be clear about what you need, what use you are going to give to your car, how long you expect to have it, what your budget is and… do the math. You might end up buying a used one. Car of the day.
