Finally, we continued on the Eifelsteig and with my third multi-day hike and I'll take you with me. We continue on the Eifelsteig where we last stopped, in the volcanic Eifel town of Gerolstein, and will try to tackle it during this planned hike to the Moselle town and final destination Trier. In today's episode, we hike from Gladbach via Kordel to the final destination Trier in two days. After we have reached Gladbach, a smaller village that lies behind the actual destination of the previous stage, Bruch. While Bruch is still known for its castle, there is not so much that is famous in Gladbach. In addition to the Eifelsteig, we are also on the way in the Meulenwald, whose logo looks quite similar to that of the Eifelsteig. The last five kilometers of this stage are sacrificed due to a diversion. The village of Kordel is picturesquely situated on the Kyll, but suffered severe damage from the Kyll during the 2021 flood and it feels quite strange to hike or arrive through Kordel. The next and last day we went from Kordel to Trier, the destination of the Eifelsteig. This last stage is intended to torture the hiker with its climbs, or so it seems. Since the weather on the last day also includes rain, it seems even more strenuous. Since we cannot hike through the Butzerbach valley because of the rain, because I find it too unsafe, we are missing this highlight for the time being. Nevertheless, we have Roman remains on the way, including the Pützlöcher copper mine. We also have a few caves on the way, the Klausen and Genoveva caves. For the last four to five kilometers, the Eifelsteig crosses the Moselsteig and the Mosel Camino. From these paths we have a view of the Moselle valley and Trier. The city of Trier is one of the oldest cities in Germany, as it was granted city rights in Roman times. The total distance in this episode is around 35 to 38 kilometers. So I hope you enjoyed the eighth episode and that I was able to encourage you to go out yourself. I would also like to thank Otto, Sebo, Franzi, Miri, Pedelly and everyone from the communities who supported me in various ways before the hike and now after the hike. You are great. By the way, I am also on Twitch, there are currently irregular streams with the main focus on "Football Manager" and/or "Minecraft", just search for "Kifoga". There is also my gaming channel here on YouTube, but there is currently only a live Let's Play for Football Manager 2004 and I missed the opportunity to respond to comments early on, forgive me, when this Let's Play was uploaded, I was going through a difficult phase in my life. / @kifoga
